This Privacy Policy explains how SOARescue collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit soarescue.com and its subdomains, enroll in our courses, purchase products, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the "Services"). It also describes the choices you have and the rights you may have under applicable law.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

1.1 Information you provide directly, such as when you create an account, enroll in a course, make a purchase, subscribe to communications, register for a live course, or contact us. This may include:

  • Name and date of birth;
  • Contact information (email address, phone number, mailing address);
  • Account credentials (username and password);
  • Professional information (job title, profession, agency or employer, credentials);
  • Demographic information (such as postal code and areas of interest);
  • Payment information (processed by our payment providers — see Section 1.4);
  • Any information you include in forms, forum posts, course submissions, or messages to us.

1.2 Information collected automatically when you use the Services, including:

  • IP address;
  • Browser type and version;
  • Operating system and device information;
  • Referring and exit pages, and your activity on the Services (pages viewed, links clicked, time spent);
  • Course progress and completion data;
  • Cookie and similar-technology data (see Section 6).

1.3 Information from third parties, such as our e-learning platform provider, payment processors, analytics providers, and social sign-in services (if you choose to log in with a third-party account). We may also receive information from co-marketing or partner organizations where you have consented.

1.4 Payment information. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers on our own systems; that information is provided directly to and handled by our processors under their security standards.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services;
  • Create and manage your account;
  • Process enrollments, orders, payments, and deliver courses and products;
  • Track course progress and issue certificates or continuing-education records;
  • Communicate with you about your account, orders, and support requests;
  • Send you marketing and promotional messages, where permitted (you can opt out at any time);
  • Conduct research and analytics to understand how the Services are used;
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Services and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We rely on a combination of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate business interests, and legal obligations as the bases for processing, depending on the context and applicable law.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below:

  • Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf—such as our e-learning platform, hosting, payment processing, shipping/fulfillment, email delivery, customer support, and analytics—who may access information only as needed to perform those services and are contractually required to protect it.
  • Accreditation and credentialing bodies. Where a course provides continuing-education credit or certification, we may share completion records with the relevant accrediting or credentialing organization to award and verify credit.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or security issues.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer that materially affects your information and, where required, offer you choices.

We do not use cross-site advertising pixels or ad-tech (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads), and we do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use only standard, first-party website analytics (Google Analytics) to understand how the Services are used. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" transaction occurs; if you are a resident of a U.S. state that provides an opt-out right, you may still contact us at the address in Section 10 and we will honor applicable requests.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Training and certification records may be retained longer where required for accreditation or regulatory purposes. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

5.1 Marketing choices. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the "unsubscribe" link in any message, or by contacting us. We may still send you non-promotional messages about your account, orders, or courses.

5.2 Access and update. You may review and update your account information by logging in, or by contacting us.

5.3 U.S. state privacy rights. Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising, where applicable;
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will verify your request before acting on it, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.

5.4 "Do Not Track." Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard, our Services do not currently respond to these signals.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, analyze usage, and (where applicable) support marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function.

Our cookies are limited to those needed to operate the Services, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and perform first-party analytics; we do not use advertising cookies. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

7. Security

We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age set by applicable law). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Individuals under 18 should use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

9. International Users

We are based in the United States and process information here. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Our Services are directed to a United States audience. We do not currently target or market to residents of the European Union or United Kingdom; if that changes, we will provide the additional disclosures and safeguards those laws require.
